Newcastle
Newcastle, like most of the towns in this area of KwaZulu-Natal, has a history of involvement in the Anglo-Zulu and the Anglo-Boer wars of the 19th century. However, unlike the other towns it has grown to be the third largest city in the province with a population in excess of 400,000.
