SA Online Talk Show hits 8 Countries
Let’s Talk Showbiz, founded in 2018, was created as an online radio talk show around the entertainment industry that promotes, uplifts and shed light on industry gems and experts locally and internationally.
Creative Director, Nicho Barnard said: “It’s important for us as creatives to promote and help each other. We have to build each other up as an industry, and that’s what Let’s Talk Showbiz does!”
Following the success of the first TWO seasons in 2018 and 2019, Let’s Talk Showbiz announced their return for a Season 3 in April 2020 in partnership with The South African Film, Acting & Theatre Academy on a brand new platform – Buzz Sprout & iTunes Radio.
The show prompted that Season 3 will have 10-episodes and will bring the audiences something bigger and better and also teased a brand new crew on the show. Nicho Barnard (Award-Winning Actor, Film Director, Producer and Nominee for Hustler of the Year for the 011 City Awards) was confirmed in February 2020 to return as not only the Creative Director of the show but also the main host. Nicho is also the CEO and Founder of the parent company of LTS, SAFATA international performing arts academy!
During the Season 3 Premiere, the rest of the crew of the show was introduced who are fellow students from SAFATA Academy pursuing the arts. Joining Nicho Barnard, the Co-Presenters of Season 3 included Johanee Adlam, Joanne Govender, Ofentse Mabale and Ryan Furh and Nisha Frimpong (who also both serve as What’s Hot Presenters).
The show’s format included a What’s Hot section as it’s the first segment with news from the local and international film, television, theatre, music and other performing arts platforms. Thereafter, the show welcomed a well-known industry veteran, practitioner or guest celebrity to the second segment of the show – with an entertaining, intriguing and enlightening interview conducted by the hosts. These interviews was to share the work and contributions these fellow veterans has done towards the industry and to give the audiences worldwide and insight into the industry.
Finally, the 3rd segment concluded the show with a few games and shout outs – all wrapped with nice and niche ads in between the 1-hour show that often featured local South African artist’s work.
Already halfway through it’s 3rd Seasons, Let’s Talk Showbiz has had some incredible guests on the show such as Craig Urbani, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Susana Kennedy, Nic Billington and Armand Joubert, Liesl Ahlers and Jarryd Nurden.
Let’s Talk Showbiz also boasted with incredible ratings, with listeners spanning over 8 countries such as South Africa (and other African Countries), France, United States, Germany, Canada, Italy, New Zeeland and Portugal.
The show airs weekly, every Friday from 1pm to 2pm (Central African Time) on Buzzsprout, iTunes Podcast, Spotify, Deezer, iHeart Radio in the USA, Tune In on Amazon Alexa and many more.
Barnard did confirm that a Season 4 is definitely in the books for September 2020!
