Steynsrus

Steynsrus is a tiny farming town in the Northern Free State Maize Triangle, between Kroonstad and Senekal on the R76. As with all Free State towns, Steynsrus (which is in fact more a ‘hamlet’ than a town) is dominated by a beautiful sandstone church.

The area is very rural. Farms grow maize, sunflowers, wheat and other crops, and there are also sheep farms, cattle ranches and stud farms. Besides the yellow fields, windmills, open roads, open space and fresh air, a notable attraction near Steynsrus is the 4×4 trail at the Riverside farm

Getting there: Steynsrus is located 52kms south-east of Kroonstad on the R76.
