Games can be played in doors on very hard floors or on outdoor fields of varying sizes. A game field is scattered with artificial or natural terrain such as tyres, brick walls and many other obstacles.
Capture the Flag
The aim of the game varies, but can include capture the flag, ammunition limits elimination, defending or attacking a particular point or area, or capturing objects of interest hidden in the playing area. The number of players on each team vary from one or two, seven or ten, to over 1,100 on a side, limited by the size of the field. Games run from an hour to seven hours depending on the number of players, size of the playing field and of course how much fun you are having!
Paintball
Paintballs are round and come in many different bright colors: blue, pink, white, orange, yellow and more. The coloured liquid inside paintballs is non-toxic, water-souable, none-caustic and biodegradable. It rinses out of clothing and off skin with soap and water.
Paintguns
Paintguns, also known as markers, comes in a variety of styles, colours and sizes.One can also add different gadgets to ones paintball gun.They may be powered by nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2) or compressed air. Many have tanks or bottles which gives hundreds of shots before needing a refill.
Paint-guns range from pump-action, semi-automatic to full-automatic paint-guns, but what they all have in common is a limitation on their power and range.
The international safety limit on speed, at which a paintgun shoots a paintball is 300fps. A paintgun’s range is limited too – can lop a paintball about 45 meters.
Safety
Paintball is a very safe sport. Statistics have shown that it is safer than tennis, swimming, golf and many other sports. Of course like every other short, safety rules have to be followed, players have to wear goggles specifically designed for paintball to protect their eyes and a protective face mask is mandatory.
