The annual project to give gifts to needy children for Christmas kicked off again on September 1.
The Santa Shoebox Project is a nationwide project and Ms Gerda Peuckert, the organiser of this project in Secunda, said they still need about 42 gifts to reach their goal of giving 230 shoeboxes to children in need at Laerskool Trichardt, the Cosmos Kriel Orphanage, Janelle Huis of Safety, Light of Light Nursery School in Piet Retief and Happiness Daycare Centre in Trichardt.
The community still have time until Friday, November, 5 to pledge a box on this project’s website and then also fill the box with the necessary items and drop it off at Laerskool Goedehoop on Saturday and Sunday, November 6 and 7.
If you want to light up a child’s life by giving, visit the Santa Shoebox Project’s website at https://santashoebox.org.za/ and follow the instructions and choose a child you want to bless with a gift.
The items that your shoebox must contain include a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, a facecloth, school supplies, a toy, sweets and an outfit of clothing.
