Secunda Autism Support Group walk
The fun walk was held on April 13 at the local Secunda Duck Pond to create awareness and celebrate Autism Acceptance Month.
Creating awareness and celebrating Autism Acceptance Month, the Secunda Autism Support Group held its second annual fun walk on April 13, at the Secunda Duck Pond.
Prizes were up for grabs for the best dressed and the family with the most team spirit. Marietjie School also received a prize.
The fun walk was to create autism awareness and acceptance, which are crucial because they foster understanding, compassion, and inclusivity within society.
“By raising awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), we can debunk misconceptions and stereotypes, promoting a more accurate understanding of the diverse experiences of individuals on the spectrum,” said occupational therapist Retha Gous.
