Miss Mpumalanga’s father missing

The father of Zamanene Nene (current Miss Mpumalanga), MrJabulane Pixely Nene has been mis¬sing for six years. Police plead with members of the public who have information of his whereabouts to come forward.
STANDERTON – It has been six years of pain and agony for the family and friends of Mr Jabulane Pixley Nene from Sakhile who disappeared without a trace. He was a well known local teacher at Khula Sakhile Secondary School and the father of the newly crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2015, Zamanene Nene.
She was 15 years old when her father disappeared. Mrs Nene, Zamanene’s mother, had to raise her on her own and Zamenene went to university and was crowned Miss Mpumalanga without her father on her side. Mr Nene was last seen leaving a tavern in Sakhile on the evening of Valentine’s Day in 2009 where he spent the better part of the afternoon with friends.
When he did not return home that evening, his family became worried and thought that that kind of behaviour was odd. They reported him missing the next day at Sakhile Police. He was reportedly last seen driving his white Toyota Corolla. Police, with the assistance of the community, searched for him all over and even police divers were used to search the Vaal River, with no success. Six years down the line there is no clue of what happened to the local teacher and the family man. A source say that the police are still looking for him. At some stage the Police will consider to declare him deceased.
In one way this should bring some relief to the family, but closure will still be haunting them until they have buried his mortal remains.
Once more Police are appealing to anyone who might have information of what happened to Mr Nene on that fateful night, to come forward. Any person with information can phone Captain Mahlomolo Moloi at 017 714 7888.The information will be treated confidentially.
