Double success for Police

A truck stacked with steel railway rails together with gas cylinders and gas cutting equipment was recovered by the Standerton police early Monday morning. Should anybody have any information on the whereabouts of the suspects or have any information regarding the theft, they are urged to contact Lieutenant Fanie Nhlabathi at the Standerton police station or to call him on 017 719 1250 or 078 583 0371.
STANDERTON – The Standerton Police was summoned to a crime scene on the Johannesburg road during the early morning hours of Monday, 4 May.
While they were busy on the scene, a suspicious truck was observed and police officers pulled the truck over.
When the truck came to a stop, the suspects jumped out and fled the scene.
When the police opened the back of the truck, they found that it was stacked with steel railway rails as well as gas cylinders and gas cutting equipment, all neatly packed and tied down.
It is suspected that the cargo was destined for Gauteng.
As the case is still under investigation, no further information could be disclosed. JD
