According to Ms Hellen Marima, the social worker, the manager of the centre alerted her to a resident’s behaviour on Saturday, October 30 at 23:00.
The man jumped the fence, damaging the wires and terrified a paid tenant in the flat.
Kasselman Security Services (KSS) were on the scene and dealt swiftly with the man.
Ms Marima emphasised that the SAVF has certain rules and regulations in place to protect the facility and its residents.
“Residents have to abide by the rules of no drinking or use of substances,” she said.
The gate is locked at 16:00 for the protection of its residents.
“The SAVF has been put in a vulnerable position,” she added.
Apart from the cost of fixing the gate, their name has been put into disrepute on their Facebook page.
“The crisis centre is there for people who need our services,” Ms Marima concluded.
