TEMERITY OF ROBBERY AT N17 SASOL PLAZA GARAGE ASTOUNDS
A troubling feature of South African society seems to be that nowhere where any amount of cash is kept, is off the charts for criminals. The Sasol N17 Sasol Plaza employees found themselves in the unenviable position of looking at the wrong side of criminals when they were robbed in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Although crime (as reported on the 10th of February on this website) in the text area of the Cosmos /Highveld region is relatively low, the worsening social-economic status of many people may see a rise in theft and burglaries. As such, businesses handling cash should be extremely alert and have measures in place to cope with a robbery.
The best prevention seems to ensure that little cash is kept on the premises, and if it needs to be to invest in time-delay safes and other counter measures so as not become soft targets.
Any information with regards to the robbery can be given to the Kinross SAP.
