PASS IT FORWARD! – GOEDHEID EN GUNS VORENTOE!
18 July but also every day must be a day of passing good deeds forward and we have plenty of opportunity in Secunda and surrounding areas! The need is always present for donations of any kind (read ANY KIND) to various welfare organisations.
These wonderful and dedicated ladies feel these cases as their own and there is no doubt that they answer to a higher calling. As is so often the case, the people they assist have barely the basic needs for survival. Any donations of any kind are welcome and will be received by their offices across Sasol sporting complex. They have a clothes’ booth where they will receive all you have to spare and on Wednesdays they run a food parcel store where they hand out parcels to the needy and sell excess stock for next-to-nothing.
Please clear out your childrens’ cupboards, as they have specific need of the following:
- blankets
- clothes for primary school children
- bookshelves (as they plan to run a book exchange based on donations)
- popular reading matter for adults (like novels) and even dictionaries etc.
- non-perishable food like peanut butter, pasta, rice, sugar, coffee and the like.
The Davieshof old-age municipal complex runs a little store to keep the clinic running and ensure that a highly trained sister is on duty. Her salary is paid from the proceeds of this little shop that is voluntarily run by their own members.
They sell clothing for as little as R1 and they are in dire need of the following:
- wool (clear out the garage of grandmom’s left-overs!)
- crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and trinkets
- old shoes
- socks
Alle donasies kan na die winkeltjie geneem word of na 15h00 na woonstelle 10, 13, 20 of 111.
This little shop is on the premises and will receive donations of any kind. Flower vases, old prints and paintings, plastic ware and kitchenware are popular. If you are scaling down and getting rid of excess baggage, these organisations can surely benefit from it.
