Sod turning for new Curro School
The piece of fenced earth on the corner of Nelson Mandela Drive and Coen Brits Street, Secunda, is bound to transform in the next few months as Mr Gerrit Viljoen of Sasol Ikusasa Project announced during the sod turning ceremony on 17 June.
This site will be transformed to accommodate one of the Curro Private Schools and it was revealed by Mr Dawie van Emmenis, the Curro Private School’s Regional Head, that the school will be ready in January 2015 to commence teaching learners.
Govan Mbeki municipality’s executive mayor, Lindi Masina’s message of support for the school, expressed the requirement for education as a prerequisite for a better future of knowledge and responsibilities. The famous quote from former president Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world” was voiced by Mr Gerrit Viljoen to illustrate the forever growing need for education.
Sasol Synfuels managing director Mr Francois Malherbe’s message of support emphasised that the core values of Sasol Synfuels’ are closely related to those of the Curro Schools and as such pledged his and Sasol Synfuels’ support.
