Rustenburg Lion Club – International Peace Poster Contest
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 earlier the year, Rustenburg Lions Club decided to host this year’s local leg of the IPPC on Facebook. This means that we will not physically visit local schools to promote the contest.
As an alternative we arranged that entries to the IPPC can be registered at Inkpot Stationers here in Rustenburg. Inkpot kindly agreed to provide entrants with the paper on which the artwork can be done. Entrants can also opt to use their own paper, but the entry form (which is in the form of a stamp that Inkpot will apply) must be completed on the back side of the artwork. The completed artwork can then be handed in at Inkpot before the end of September to be judged. The winners will be notified telephonically and then also be announced on Facebook.
This year there will 3 categories to compete in namely the original IPPC open to any child between 11 and 13 years of age. The top 5 entries in this category will advance to the next level of the contest. Two of the top 5 will be selected by judges appointed by Rustenburg Lions Club, the others will be voted for by visitors to our Facebook page. All the entries will be posted on our Facebook page in the first week of October, and the ones that receive the most “Likes” and “Shares” will be selected as the winners.
There will be one winner in the other two categories, which will be an open category (where anyone can take part) and the category for special needs children. The entries in these two categories will have to do their artwork on an A5 paper (which can if required be supplied free of charge by Inkpot Stationers).
