Here in sunny Rustenburg, North West Province, we can enjoy outdoor activities to our heart’s content. There are various caravan and camping sites in Rustenburg, while the Olifantsnek and Buffelspoort Dams provide great fishing spots. Add a number of resorts to choose from and Rustenburg is the place in the sun where you’ve got to be! Don’t hold back on the sun screen!

Love our nature and wildlife? Visit the Pilanesberg National Park – Game Reserve or have a picnic at Kgaswane Mountain Reserve.
Various hiking and Mountain Bike Trails, at different levels of difficulty, are available at Kgaswane Mountain Reserve and in and around Rustenburg and Magaliesburg.

Go on an adventure
With a little planning, enthusiasm and creativity you can have an amazing race for your family or a group of friends. Hide a variety of objects in an area(garden, nature reserve etc.) and then supply the contestants with clues on where to find these objects.
The level of difficulty can be adjusted to suit the group of contestants. The prize at the end should be worth the effort.
Geo-caching is another great family activity. It works on the same principle as the amazing race but your will need a GPS or smartphone app to find geo-caches left at specific locations by other geo-cachers. This is a fun way of visiting places you would never have gone to otherwise.

Family fun at home
Games evening – Dust off the favourite board or card games and play away. Kids, being addicted to technology, might not be too enthusiastic about the idea, but with everybody’s favourite snacks and drinks they will soon join in the fun.
A family project – decide on a project that will involve the whole family e.g. paint a wall, plant a herb garden, make handmade gifts or garden and home decorations.
Volunteer
