World’s fastest Zip Slide in Sun City, near Rustenburg
The Zip 2000 is located at Sun City, South Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure which is near the Pilanesberg Game Reserve in the North West Province. It holds a designation as one of the longest, highest and fastest zip slides in the world, being around 280 metres in height, 2 kilometres long that reaches speeds of 120km/h.
The Zip 2000 has been in operation since 2004 at Sun City and provides patrons with the peace-of-mind of a 100 percent safety record as the operators strictly adhere to all the required safety standards and procedures. Patrons are secured into a harness and suspended below a free running trolley that is attached to a steel cable and have the choice of a solo or tandem slide. The Zip 2000 is currently the only Zip Slide certified by the South African Department of Labour.

Other international terms for Zip Slides are Zip Wires, Flying Foxes, Zip Wires or occasionally Aerial Runways. The Zip 2000 is open for individuals from the age of 12, making it a fun activity for the whole family as there is no ‘free fall’ and no ‘jerk’ movements experienced in bungee-jumping or skydiving.
