Casalinga is an elegant, award-winning, Italian styled country restaurant – the brainchild of Peter and Jenny De Luca. In 1989 they extended their Muldersdrift home, keeping the country feel by using historic hardwood pieces, tiles, artefacts and stained – glass windows reclaimed from demolished houses on the Randfontein Gold Mining estate.
What they created was an elegant venue with classic Italian architecture and tasteful décor with a stunning view of the country side. The atmosphere is relaxed and extends across the five different dining areas.
Casalinga’s delicious fare has established it as one of Gauteng’s leading restaurants for the past more than twenty years. It is the ideal setting for tasteful business luncheons and dinners, corporate functions or intimate dinners for two. When all the areas are interlinked, the restaurant can seat up to 350 guests.
Since opening, Casalinga has received many awards and accolades, including Best Sunday Lunch, Best Alfresco Dining and Most Romantic Restaurant. It has also become a popular wedding venue.
Casalinga is simple; we try and make it as intimate as possible and an extension of our home – Jenny De Luca.
The Casalinga team strive to provide the finest Italian, contemporary cuisine from fresh, natural ingredients, free of preservatives and artificial substances. Vegetables and herbs are organically grown on the beautiful farm.
