COURSE CONTENTS:

  1. Explain the framework of health, safety and environmental legislation at the workplace;

  2. The creation and promulgation of legislation is explained in terms of legislative process;

  3. The contravention of legislation is explained in terms of the legal process;

  4. Criminal and civil liability;

  5. The importance of complying with legislation and consequences with non-compliance;

  6. Applicable legislation is identified and listed according to workplace specific requirements;

  7. Explain the requirements of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and codes of practice;

  8. The statutory requirements are explained;

  9. Implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental legislation in the workplace;

  10. Allocation of resources to implement and maintain health, safety and environmental legislation at a workplace is explained in terms of statutory requirements;

  11. The training and communication required to implement health, safety and environmental legislation in the workplace is explained in terms of specified requirements;

  12. Objectives and targets;

  13. Compliance through inspections, measurements, audits and reports is monitored in terms of the legislation;

  14. The requirements for maintenance and control of documents and records are explained in terms of health, safety and environmental legislation;
