Not only is it one of South Africa’s most recognized man-made structures but the beautifully designed Herbert Baker building is impressive and easily accessible. Only the grounds below the Union Buildings are open to the public but the terraced lawns and vast grounds still provide magnificent photo opportunities.

The Union Buildings were recently declared a national monument and also feature a nine-metre Mandela statue which is not to be missed.
