Description
Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve nestled in the quiet suburb of Moreleta Park offers trails catering for everyone from the Sunday stroller to the passionate hiker or runner.
The route offers 3 short trails but by doing a figure 8 walk and reversing the Duiker Trail you can complete a 9km walk. The routes consist of a variety of habitats including open grassland, rocky ridges and wetlands.
The Reserve is in the process of developing an easily accessible route inside the Kloof that will allow disabled people the opportunity to experience nature namely the Discovery & Sensory trail. Along the routes hikers can enjoy the rich bird life due to the Moreleta Spruit as well small herds of game such as, impala, blesbok, zebra, springbok and ostrich.

All hikes start and end about 1 km from the gate entrance and are clearly marked.

Duiker hiking trail: 2,9 km
Suikerbos hiking trail: 3,3 km
Discovery & Sensory trail: 2.2km

Depending on trial chosen the duration can vary from 1 – 2½hours

Visiting Hours:
Gate times: 06:00 to 18:00 (winter and summer)
Entrance to the nature reserve will only be allowed until one hour before closing time on weekdays and two hours before closing on weekends.
Directions
From the N1, take the Rigel Avenue turn-off and travel east. Turn left into Solomon Mahlangu (old Hans Strijdom Avenue); right into Rubenstein Street; and left into Helios Street. Parking is available in Helios Street.
