This little zoo and petting farm totally surprised me. Situated within the heart of Pretoria, in Frederika Street near the well-known Voortrekker (Steve Biko) Road, this is truly a hidden Eden that is a must visit for kids and adults alike.
Come and meet “Donkie” (the donkey with blue eyes), “Joseph” (the bull), “Charlie, Eva, Linkie, Piglet, Rosy, Bella and Marmelade” (pigs), “Zanza & Spottie” (goats that are both pregnant at this stage), birds and many more small animals!
Enjoy a nice lunch and a cold milkshake in the tea garden while the kids play in the playground. Do not forget to make a turn into the craft shop. There is also a Chapel that can be booked for small weddings. Kids parties and nursery school visits can also be arranged. Day visitors are always welcome as the zoo is open Tuesday to Sunday with plenty of parking.
The animals are all healthy well looked after. The owner Suzette has a big heart; she can tell you the story behind every animal and loves them all dearly.
Visit them and fall in love with this little zoo, just like I did! They need all the support they can get, so visit, arrange a sponsorship or help out as a volunteer. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you visit often!
