Injabulo Restaurant is officially opened

Out in Africa Wildlife Lodge is happy to announce that its Injabulo Restaurant is open to the public. Situated in the Dinokeng Game Reserve – the only free roaming Big 5 reserve in Gauteng – the lodge offers an ambiance of exclusivity with an atmosphere of years gone by. Once entering the premises the whole setup carries guests into a world they often asked themselves whether it still exists, or even ever existed.

While the focus is to provide guests with an exceptional experience indulging true luxury the underlying philosophy to be kind to our environment follows the principles of ecologically responsible and sustainable tourism.

The Injabulo Restaurant itself is set up in a hundred year old dining car. “A train in the bush” is the first surprise guests experience. Once entering the restaurant they travel in time finding themselves in an Edwardian-style dining car, furnished with period chairs, tasseled curtains and bell-shaped reading lamps. Armchairs invite for an aperitif before getting seated. Slim wooden pillars separate the limited number of tables.

The seven course dinners are an event, a culinary journey, rather than just an eat-out. The Injabulo cuisine is based on local products and passionate cooking. The idea is to combine culinary arts with bold African flavours and ingredients. On the meat side we are only using organically grown, naturally fed animals. We strive to involve producers with the same philosophy about produce and our menu follows the flow of the season.

The Injabulo Restaurant is not a walk-in establishment. Since all dishes are freshly made from scratch pre-bookings are mandatory – same day reservation up to 10:00 AM.

Booking and check for availability can easily be done via the web site. To secure your reservation a 50% deposit is required (non-refundable, but credited against the final bill).
