Dear Friends,
We would like to keep you updated about changes to the COVID-19 measures implemented at the Voortrekker Monument. In line with President Ramaphosa’s directives and the City of Tshwane’s recommendations we have implemented the following:
At this time we remain open according to our normal visiting hours.
According to guidelines that were communicated, only groups of 10 may visit a museum at one time. To allow everyone equal chance to visit the museum, a group will be limited to 30 minutes per visit inside the Voortrekker Monument. For larger groups the time can be shortened to accommodate time schedules. To properly execute this measure, we recommend that groups only visit the Hall of Heroes and not disperse to other levels.
Facility bookings for groups smaller than 100 is possible. Please take note that all recommended measures must be implemented, such as making use of a register of attendants and the use of disinfectant solution.
For your safety, please allow a safe distance (at least 1 meter) between yourself and another visitor or groups.
Disinfectant soap is available in all bathrooms on site with notifications illustrating how to properly wash your hands.
Disinfectant spray is available in public spaces, especially at entrances to buildings.
Surfaces such as buttons on lifts, handrails and counters will be disinfected regularly.
We wish you and your family well during this trying time.
Kind regards,
Lizette Jansen
