New Minibuses for Hope to Gracia Child and Youth Care Centre
New Minibuses Bring Hope to Gracia Child and Youth Care Centre
Gracia Child and Youth Care Centre in Pretoria North has received a much-needed boost with the donation of three new 16-seater Quantum Ses’fikile minibuses from the DT Foundation. The centre, home to over 80 children from underprivileged and broken homes, now has reliable transport to get the children safely to school and activities.
The donation has been described as life-changing by Gracia’s board chairperson, Jaco van Tonder, who expressed deep gratitude to the DT Foundation for their continued support. The foundation has a long history of assisting the centre, having recently renovated a 20-room hostel and upgraded the premises.
Founded in 2009, Gracia offers a safe home and holistic care for children referred by welfare services and the courts, many of whom have faced neglect and abuse. The centre focuses not only on providing shelter but also on education, values, and emotional healing.
Their latest fundraising efforts include a campaign to send the children on a beach holiday to Port Shepstone—at a cost of R4,500 per child—and a Golf Day on June 20 at Akasia Golf Club to help make this dream a reality.
At Gracia Child and Youth Care Centre in Pretoria North, every child’s story begins with hardship — neglect, abuse, or broken homes. But Gracia offers more than just shelter. Their mission is to provide these vulnerable children with a safe home, emotional healing, proper education, and a chance to rebuild their lives.
Gracia receives no government funding. Their work depends entirely on the kindness and generosity of the public. Without community support, they cannot continue providing the care and stability that over 80 children desperately need.
Your support makes the difference. Whether through donations, fundraising events, or simply spreading awareness, you can help Gracia give every child a second chance at life.
