CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation is a national organisation and we support children with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders and their families.

Our core business is to support the children with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders and their families from diagnoses throughout the whole cancer journey.

Our support groups help the families cope with the stress that the diagnosis brings. We also try to alleviate as much as possible of the financial and emotional stress caused by the time of treatment.

CHOC is a well-structured Non-profit organisation.

CHOC is the only childhood cancer foundation in SA. 

We are accountable and transparent. We have a history of success and we have been existing for 44 years.

CHOC does not receive funding from government but rely heavily on donations from caring corporates, individuals and parents of children with cancer. All funds raised are used to provide all-encompassing support – from direct practical help to the children and their families and those involved in the treatment – to necessary equipment.

We support research into studies investigating the causes and treatment of childhood cancer. We support health professionals in Paediatric Oncology to keep them at the leading edge of expertise.

We ensure equality of treatment for all children through being an advocate for their cause and we we work in close liaison with the medical staff ensuring that the medical and physical facilities in the centres are of a high standard and create a warm, child friendly environment.

All funds raised are used to provide all-encompassing support

CHOC Pretoria needs your help.

Volunteers

We need volunteers to help us raise funds, to help us with events, at CHOC House and as a hospital volunteers. All our volunteers are screened, interviewed and fully trained. 

We need toiletries and non-perishable food 

Cereal / Rooibos Tea / Ricoffy/ Cooking oil /Brown sugar/ Yogurt/ Mealie Meal /Margarine / Bread / Long life milk /Eggs /Juice /Fresh and tinned fruits vegetables/ White vinegar/ Toiletries/ Automatic washing powder/ Bleach /Peanut butter/ Samp/ Rice/ Soya mince or tins with protein food like fish, beans, etc. / Toiletries / nappies for children and adults  / toasters / kettles.

We also have a CHOC Charity Shop 

The CHOC Charity Shop would appreciate your in-kind donations of used clothes, books, bric-a-brac, kitchen goods, toys and everything else you do not use anymore. All donations directly benefit children with cancer. Please call 0781645447 or email fundraiser.pretoria@choc.org.za.
