Raygun was violently beaten and set on fire by a group of schoolchildren near Botleng Secondary School in Pretoria, an act captured on video and widely condemned. The Owl Rescue Centre confirmed that Raygun had been peacefully navigating Pretoria in search of a new baboon troop. Authorities, including SAPS, the SPCA, and investigator Mike Bolhuis, are involved in the case, but no significant progress has been made. Animal rights groups continue to demand justice, urging the public to come forward with information.
