A sought after suburb due to the location, Groenkloof is situated in the old Pretoria-east, with neighbouringing suburbs including Brooklyn and Hatfield. The suburb is close to city centre and various tourist attractions, including the Voortrekker Monument, Brooklyn Mall, the University of South Africa and Fort Klapperkop in close proximity.
Nature & Outdoors
Located in Groenkloof, the Groenkloof Nature Reserve’s wildlife includes zebra, jackal, duiker, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, blesbuck, red hartebeest, rich birdlife, ostrich and giraffe.
The reserve offers a large variety of activities for nature lovers, horse trails, night drives, 4×4 route, picnic area and overnight facilities are also available.
The very popular Moyo Restaurant is situated in the reserve.
The Groenkloof Nature Reserve is open September to April from 05:30 to 19:00, and in May to August from 07:00 to 18:00. For more information, visit the reserve’s website here.

The Little Company of Mary private hospital, part of the Life Healthcare group, is situated in Groenkloof.
Education
The University of Pretoria’s self-sufficient Faculty of Education’s campus is housed in Groenkloof. There are four residences on the campus; Kiaat, Inca, Lilium and Zinnia.

The Groenkloof Plaza shopping and convenience centre features 24 shops, including the popular Groenkloof Spar, Café 41, Pride of India and Fumo Restaurant.
Also in Groenkloof: the Groenkloof Virgin Active Gym, IL Bar Italiano Restaurant, Groenkloof Tennis Courts, a few embassies and commercial residential as well as office buildings.
