Week-long rain improves Pretoria dam levels
The recent rainfalls in Gauteng have had a positive impact on the province’s dam levels, with some now floating above the 100 percent mark.
This is according to the department of water and sanitation, which estimated a 111.3 percent increase from last week’s 88.2 percent.
“The Bronkhorstspruit Dam increased its level to 113.9 percent, a rise of 10 percent compared to the same period last year,” the department said in a statement.
“Bon Accord Dam has retained its last week’s level of 108.4 percent. However, the dam has increased its volume by four percent compared to the same period last (year).”
The Roodeplaat Dam is said to be floating at 113.9 percent, showing an improvement compared to last week’s 75.3%.
At 87.3 percent, the Rietvlei Dam remained unchanged from last week.
