Water supply interruption in Temba and surrounding areas
The residents of Temba and surrounding areas are informed about a water supply interruption due to take place from Tuesday, 20 November until Thursday, 22 November 2018. During this period, the City’s technicians will shut-down the Temba Water Purification Plant in order to carry out a tie-in connection of a new pipeline to an existing one as well as a tie-in of two air valves on the Sekampaneng pipeline.
The following areas will be affected:
- Dilopye
- New Eersterus
- Temba Babelegi Industries
- Marokolong
- Ramotse
- Majaneng
- Mandela Village
- Sekampaneng
- Hammanskraal.
As in the case of maintenance and upgrading work, the re-routing is expected to:
- Lessen unplanned maintenance;
- Limit possible pipe burst;
- Improve water supply in the area;
- Reduce constant major repairs that results in water interruption; and,
- Reduce areas that will be affected with no water when there is a major pipe burst.
Roaming water tankers are arranged to supply the residents in the affected areas with water. The City of Tshwane apologises for any inconvenience that might arise as a result of this shutdown and upkeep.
