Water supply interruption in Centurion and nearby suburbs
Rand Water reservoirs supplying Centurion and nearby suburbs are experiencing low water levels due to an electrical problem on the water utility’s Palmiet pump station. This has resulted in some suburbs being subjected to water interruptions since Saturday, December 8 2018.
The City’s reservoirs that are seriously affected include Valhalla and Clifton respectively, which supply residents along the following roads:
- Areskutan Road
- Aero Road
- Atlas Road
- Angvick Road
Rand Water is continuously monitoring the reservoirs which reached unacceptable levels over the weekend. Water supply will be restored once the water levels are sufficient and have stabilised.
As of last night, roaming water tankers have been arranged to supply about 600 households that are affected by the water interruption. Residents are informed that water tankers are located at the corner of Angvick and Fergus Roads, as well as Angvick and Alaric Roads
Water will be gradually restored during the day, however, residents are urged to use water sparingly to ensure that the reservoirs retain their full capacity.
The City of Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that has been caused by this interruption.
