The busiest flight routes in the world includes this one in South Africa

Airline analytics company OAG has released its report on the world’s busiest flight routes in 2019.
The report is based on data and analysis of the world’s flights for the period March 2018-February 2019 – discounting carriers operating less than 500 scheduled flights per year and factoring in on-time performance (OTP).
It found that 15 of the top 20 busiest international routes are in Asia Pacific, with a cluster around the Asian hub airports of Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
The busiest international route in the world is Kuala Lumpur – Singapore with over 30,000 flights in the course of a year, operated by eight carriers with an average of 82 flights per day.
Domestic
The busiest domestic route in the world, by a large margin, operates between Jeju and Seoul Gimpo.
With nearly 80,000 annual flights, this high-frequency service is operated by seven carriers who between them provide over 200 daily services.
The second busiest domestic route is Melbourne – Sydney in Australia with around 148 flights each day.
South Africa also features on the list with the Cape Town – Johannesburg flight named as the eleventh busiest on the list.
The route has over 33,708 annual flights and is operated by six carriers.

South Africa also features prominently on the list of the busiest domestic flights in Africa and the Middle East.
In addition to the Cape Town – Johannesburg flight, Durban – Johannesburg was named as the third busiest route in the region.
The route sees 22,357 flights a year operated by five carriers.
