In the most patriotic moment of the day, South Africa’s Daryl Impey took victory in Stage 9 of the Tour de France.

There was double delight for South African golf fans as Dylan Frittelli and Retief Goosen emerged victorious on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour, respectively.
British Grand Prix
More reason to celebrate for British fans as Lewis Hamilton won a record sixth British Grand Prix – his seventh win out of 10 races thus far in 2019.
Honourable Mentions
To Senegal for their injury-time own-goal victory over Tunisia to reach the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final, as well as Algeria, who had a stoppage-time Riyad Mahrez free-kick to thank for their 2-1 win over Nigeria in the second semi-final.
