The Springboks will face the All Blacks in Auckland
The Springboks are set to face the All Blacks in Auckland and Wellington during the 2025 Rugby Championship.
New Zealand Rugby has announced the venues for their home Tests in 2025, with the reigning world champions taking on the All Blacks at Eden Park on 6 September. The historic stadium, where the All Blacks remain unbeaten in 50 Tests, will provide the stage for this highly anticipated clash.
The Springboks’ last victory at Eden Park dates back to 1937, highlighting the challenge ahead. This encounter will mark the first of two back-to-back Tests between the long-time rivals in New Zealand. The second showdown is scheduled for 13 September at Wellington’s Sky Stadium.
Under Rassie Erasmus, South Africa has achieved four consecutive wins over the All Blacks, including the 2023 Rugby World Cup final. However, the Springboks have only played in New Zealand once since 2019, suffering a 35-20 loss at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.
New Zealand’s 2025 schedule also features a three-Test July series at home against France, along with Freedom Cup matches against Argentina in August, likely to take place in Mendoza and Buenos Aires.
The Rugby Championship will culminate in the double-header Tests against South Africa, followed by a Bledisloe Cup clash against Australia at Eden Park on 27 September.
