Pretoria’s Cycling Star Travis Rademan-Ludeke Set for UCI World Championships
Travis Rademan-Ludeke, Pretoria’s rising cycling star and the current 2024 South African junior road champion, is preparing to take on the world’s best cyclists in Zurich, Switzerland, at the 2024 UCI World Championships. This marks a significant moment in the young cyclist’s burgeoning career as he steps onto the international stage later this month.
At just 18 years old, Rademan-Ludeke has already made his mark in South African cycling. He first captured national attention in 2021 when, as a 15-year-old, he was crowned South African national youth champion for road racing. Since then, his talent and dedication have only grown. This February, he claimed the junior champion title at the National Road Championships in Midvaal, solidifying his place as one of the country’s top young cyclists.
Competing in the UCI World Championships is a dream come true for the Pretoria Boys High matriculant. “I am proud to be selected to represent South Africa at the UCI World Championships in Zurich,” Rademan-Ludeke shared. “I believe most cyclists have a dream to take their sport to the highest level and compete against the best athletes in the world.”
In addition to his road cycling prowess, Rademan-Ludeke is a versatile athlete who excels in mountain biking. He actively competes in various Mountain Bike and Cross Country Olympic (XCO) races. Currently, he leads the Cycle Lab High School Series in the Junior Category, representing his school with pride.
With his undeniable talent and commitment, Rademan-Ludeke is not only a young athlete to watch at the upcoming UCI World Championships but also a bright future star of South African cycling.
