Moot Matric Learner to Compete at National Chess Champs
Bonicia du Toit, a Grade 12 learner from Hoërskool Oos-Moot, has earned her spot in the prestigious South African Junior Closed Chess Championship 2025 (SAJCCC) in Somerset West, Western Cape, from March 31 to April 5. Although feeling nervous, Bonicia is grateful for the opportunity to showcase her hard work. The championship serves as a key qualification event for junior players aspiring to represent South Africa at international tournaments such as the World Youth and African Youth Chess Championships.
