Mamelodi’s 11 Stars Ladies recently triumphed in the fourth Shaka Easter Soccer Tournament, securing a substantial prize of R50,000 for their outstanding performance in the women’s division.
Their journey to victory culminated in a thrilling final match at Soshanguve Giant Stadium, where they overcame Ramatlaotle Ladies 3-1 on penalties after a hard-fought 2-all draw in regular time. This achievement was a testament to their unwavering dedication, as they remained undefeated throughout the tournament, impressing both fans and Chairman David Motau.
Motau, also the team’s co-owner, commended the players for their exceptional commitment, highlighting their flawless run under the guidance of head coach Nokuthula Mtshweni. Notably, Mtshweni’s recent qualification for the CAF D licence added to the team’s confidence and tactical prowess.
The path to victory included notable victories against Ga-Rankuwa Ladies and Raycon FC Ladies, showcasing the team’s skill and determination.
