Isabella Kruger to participate Africa Cares Women Challenge

The Pretoria-born and bred tennis sensation, Isabella Kruger, will play in the Africa Cares Women’s Tennis Challenge in early December.
Isabella Kruger to participate in Africa Cares Women’s Tennis Challenge, One of the late Ruben Kruger, former Bulls and Springbok legend’s two tennis-playing daughters, Isabella, will be in action on the first weekend in December in Johannesburg in a special tournament with several tennis superstars.
After making strides in the making, it to the quarter-final stage of the Junior Wimbledon Champions, Isabella Kruger will be taking place in the Africa Cares Women’s Tennis Challenge at just 17 years old.
What is set to be the biggest annual tennis tournament in Africa will be taking place on the 3rd and 4th of December 2022 at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, the two-day tennis tournament will see both international and local tennis sensations showcase their talent on South African soil, for a good cause.
Isabella Kruger expressed her gratitude for being a part of the tournament and advocating for change during the 16 days of activism.
“As a young woman born and raised in South Africa, issues such as gender-based violence are close to my heart considering the devastating statistics we are exposed to, it is an honour to be a part of this campaign by both showcasing a sport that I love and using it as a vehicle to drive change,” she explained.
The rising South African tennis player, who is the daughter of the former Bulls and Springbok legend, Reuben Kruger, has had her fair share of being on international platforms as she has battled past Polish former World no. 29 Urszula Radwanska, which was to secure her sport in the second round of the Tuks International ITF World Tennis Tour W60 tournament.
Kruger also faced the Russian sixth seed Anastasia Tikhonova, who beat Alice Robbe from France.
Other tennis players who have been announced to also be part of the line-up are Swiss multi-grand slam winner Martina Hingis, and Sloane Stephens – an American Tennis Professional who has five singles titles to her name, including her first Major at the 2017 US Open.
The 29-year-old tennis superstar is also the founder of the Sloane Stephens Foundation with a primary goal of enhancing the quality of life for youth, through exposure to tennis as a basis for life.
Supporting these exceptional women will be upcoming South African tennis star Khololwam Montsi, who was part of the French Open Junior Tennis Champions at the age of 17. He will be doubling up with German-Jamaican professional tennis player Dustin Brown, who rose to fame after beating Rafael Nadal in 2014 Halle Open.
The two will showcase their speed, technique, and entertaining playing style, in support of women’s tennis.
