International Tennis Action Heads to Pretoria
Pretoria will be buzzing with international tennis this September, featuring both senior and junior events.
The South African Davis Cup team will contest a World Group II tie at Tennis Gauteng North in Groenkloof this coming weekend.

One of South Africa’s rising young tennis stars, Jahnie van Zyl, is a good example of how these local ITF tournaments can boost young players’ careers. Following standout performances at the J200 events in Durban last year, she secured spots at the French Open juniors and recently made her debut at the American Open in New York.
In addition, two International Tennis Federation (ITF) J200 junior tournaments will be staged at the Tuks Tennis Club, University of Pretoria — the first from 8–13 September and the second from 15–20 September.
These tournaments, hosted in partnership with Curro Holdings, attract top under-18 players from across Africa and abroad, giving young talent the chance to gain vital international experience. Rising star Jahnie van Zyl is a prime example, having used success in past ITF events as a springboard to appearances at the French Open juniors and the US Open.
