Sosh ‘crowdfunding’ gives student’s dream wings
If it’s meant to be, it will be, according to former Tshwane University of Technology student Phakamani Dludla.
He had just carried out a successful drive to collect money to graduate and pursue his career of teaching.
He dreams of teaching English in China, he said. He had had this dream for a long time until the outstanding university fees stood between him and his graduation.
Dludla graduated, but was turned down when he failed to provide proof for his qualifications – a diploma and Bachelor of Technology in language practice – to accompany his application for the post. This was because he owed the university R32000.
