Pta water safe to drink (mostly), says AfriForum
The quality of drinking water in the Hammanskraal area is not fit for human consumption.
AfriForum recently tested potable water supplied several neighbourhoods in the greater Pretoria area for quality as part of their new Blue and Green Drop project.
Spokesperson Hesti Steenkamp said the project focused on the quality of drinking water and treated sewage but not necessarily on the condition of the treatment plants.
She said several plants tested in the Moot and passed with flying colours.
The Apies River, Moot and Waverley plants as well as Greater Pretoria areas of Bronkhorstspruit, Central Centurion, South Centurion, Cullinan, Hennops River Valley, Kameeldrift, Meyerspark, Pretoria North, Garsfontein, Waterkloof, Moreleta, Pretoria West, Rayton West Moot and Zambezi were tested.
