Pretoria’s three-legged dog gets new home
The three-legged dog taken in by the SPCA Tshwane’s Waltloo branch last year has found its forever home.
Dr Heidi Bolton, who lives in the east of Pretoria, saw the article about Leo in Rekord and decided to meet him, said SPCA spokesperson Elsa Daniels.
Leo went to his new home on Saturday, and was adapting well, she said.
“She told me that the initial idea was that Leo would sleep in a dog house, but when I spoke to her this week, she told me that Leo has taken over the house,” she said.
“I also noticed that on her application letter, she listed her reason for adopting as ‘I want to give an animal love and a good home’.”
She said previously, Bolton had animals but they had died of old age.
Daniels said she was happy that Leo found his forever home.
“I am so happy for Leo and wish we could find a good home for each and every one of the animals at the SPCA,” she said.
Leo was spotted around Erasmia by a passer-by, dragging his hind leg attached only by some skin in October last year.
