Parts of Pretoria riddled with potholes rain cause havoc
“The potholes seemed to have deepened due to the downpour and residents are urged to report them immediately to prevent damage to vehicles,” Nel said.
Due to the heavy rainfall since last week, several roads in Pretoria have been ravaged by potholes leaving residents disgruntled.
West ward councillor Elma Nel said several large potholes had formed throughout Moot and West and throughout Pretoria.
“The potholes seemed to have deepened due to the downpour and residents are urged to report them immediately to prevent damage to vehicles,” Nel said.
Resident Danest Cronje said a manhole in Franzina Street was also causing problems and had been an issue for almost five years, affecting the McDonald family.
Cronje said that concerned residents were digging holes to stop the manhole seepage from flooding the McDonald home.
Van der Hoff road is one of the main roads that is riddled with potholes. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
The bridge at Green Street in Pretoria was also flooded due to heavy rains.
