North animal shelter grateful for help pouring in
Wollies has long been a sanctuary and shelter providing a haven for hundreds of animals, many of which come from harsh circumstances, abandonment, neglect and abuse.
Wollies Animal Shelter in Heatherdale, north of Pretoria has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the community, with a noticeable increase in donations and adoptions.
The shelter, known for its dedication to rescuing and rehabilitating stray and abandoned animals, is expressing deep gratitude to everyone who has contributed, yet still encourages more support as the holiday season progresses.
Wollies has long been a sanctuary for animals in need and the shelter provides a haven for hundreds of dogs and cats, many of which come from harsh circumstances, abandonment, neglect and abuse.
For these animals, the festive season can be a difficult time and while families gather to celebrate, pets often get left behind, adding pressure on shelters like Wollies to provide care and shelter.
But this year, thanks to an outpouring of kindness from the public, the shelter is beginning the festive season with renewed hope.
“We cannot express how thankful we are for the support we’ve received.
The donations have made an enormous difference, and the adoptions have given so many of our animals a second chance at a loving home. It’s truly heartwarming to see how people have come together to help,” said Wollies manager Cilla Trexler.
