Afrison Donation
Mr Van Rooy van den Berg, Managing Director of Afrison, donated lighting for the new amphitheatre roof as well as some other places on the site.
He delivered the lights personally.
Thank you very much! On the photo is our Senior Operational Manager, Bert Visser and Mr Van den Berg (right).
Donation
Thanks to a donation of river sand received from Valhalla General Dealers, the place we have been renovating at the Garden of Remembrance is looking very nice. Our thanks to them! Without the selfless help from all our sponsors it would be very difficult to complete projects such as this.
Toilets
We renovated the ladies’ toilets at the Monument’s assegaai gate in September. They were renovated in 2000, but were just not up to standard any more. The team who completed this task, were photographed here with our MD, Cecilia Kruger.
Lilizela Awards
The Monument was selected as a finalist in the category Roots & Culture at the annual Lilizela Awards for tourism in September.
Our Marketing Manager, Lizette Jansen, attended the event.
Show
This month the Monument took part in a mini tourism show arranged by Tshwane Tourism. The Top Things to Do in Pretoria show was specially arranged for the municipal workers of Pretoria. On the photo our marketing officer, Thea Furstenburg, demonstrates the Talking Maps to visitors at the show.
Heritage Day
Our Heritage Festival on Heritage Day was a huge success. Thank you to Nadine and Joe Voster for their performances and also to all our other supporters who made this day a wonderful family outing. A big thank you to IMPI Security and Event Management Services for sponsoring the guards and safety personnel on the day.
