We have nearly completed our beautiful new multi-cultural educational centre. We are aiming to host the official opening in June. The name will be Funda Lapa. Funda is from the Latin word meaning foundation and also the Zulu word for learning. Lapa means meeting place.
The VTM Running and Walking Club have decided to launch an new annual race on site to celebrate the 80th commemoration of the laying of the cornerstone of the Monument this year. At the first race, participants will win this exceptional medal.
The race will take place on Saturday, 24 November with a 5km, 10km and half marathon race. We will publish entry details at a later date.
Events
Remember our Military Fair on 1 May from 09:00 to 15:00.
The fair is now officially the biggest in the country.
This year we have the full support of the Chief of the Army and more vehicles etc. will be on display.
The drill platoon from 4 Artillery Regiment in Porchefstroom will open the arena program. The guys from Group73 will once again provide an exceptional helicopter demonstration.
Friends of the Monument
The following is only applicable to people who renew their Friend cards annually. Lifelong members may ignore this.
We ask that you renew your membership cards as soon as possible because it takes up a lot of time and administration. The fee is still R250 per year.

It is imperative that you send the proof of your payment to marketing@vtm.org.za or fax it to 0866 354 705. Please use your surname and the word Friend as reference on the payment slip. This ensures speedy processing of your cards.
