Update: Water supply interruption in Laudium and Erasmia
06 August 2019
The City of Tshwane would like to notify residents of Laudium who have been experiencing water supply interruption since Sunday about a possible delay in the restoration of water supply to the area. According to Rand Water, the supply was expected to be restored not later than 12h00 today, but the build up of the reservoir level is taking longer than expected.
Following the successful repair of a damaged Rand Water pipe yesterday afternoon, water supply to Erasmia and parts of Laudium was restored and will continue to be restored gradually over time in other affected areas.
Currently, parts of Laudium and other additional areas which include Atteridgeville, Lotus Gardens, Saulsville and Christoburg are still affected as they feed from the same system.
The City urges residents who’s supply has been restored in parts Laudium and Erasmia to use water sparingly to allow the reservoir and the pipeline to fill-up to optimal capacity. Consumers will be kept abreast on the developments.
A tanker is stationed at Laudium Hospital to supply residents of Laudium with water. Additional tankers are currently being arranged to service Atteridgeville and Lotus Gardens. Residents will be informed of their location.
The City pleads for patience during this period of inconvenience.
