Tshwane vaccination numbers increase following the introduction of the weekend vaccination program
The introduction of the weekend vaccination program which began on Saturday, 31 July 2021, has seen an exponential increase in the vaccination numbers of all persons that are eligible to be inoculated across Tshwane.
In 11 days (the period between 30 July and 09 August 2021) 58 064 people received their COVID-19 vaccine jabs. Of these, 27 636 have been fully vaccinated, either through the Johnson & Johnson single dose or two doses of Pfizer, bringing the total number of individuals who are fully vaccinated in Tshwane to 241 106.
Currently, the number of vaccines administered in Tshwane is standing at 536 376. The 60 years old and above remain the most vaccinated with 164 660 individuals, 68% (111 900) of them having been fully vaccinated.
The number of individuals vaccinated in the 50 – 59 age category is sitting at 98 773 with just over 35 000 of them being fully vaccinated.

In the same period, the 30 – 39 age cohort, recorded an increase of 13 580.

The vaccination for the 18 – 34 years group (general public) will begin from 1 September 2021.
