Tshwane to effect repairs to a leaking pipeline
8 June 2020
The City of Tshwane’s water department has started with repairs to a 400mm PVC water pipeline, following an identified leak that led to water supply interruption in Olievenhoutbosch yesterday.
The City’s plumbers, based in Region 4, had to work around the clock to identify the reason for the absence of water in extension 27 and 36 respectively, after receiving reports from consumers. While the diagnosis and fault finding was underway, the department organised a water tanker which was deployed as part of our efforts to mitigate the interruption of water supply in the area. The water tanker is stationed at cnr Morudi and Bogosi Streets.
A dedicated team of artisans is still onsite. It is anticipated that water will be restored around 23h00.The City of Tshwane apologises profusely for the inconvenience as a result of this emergency repair work that has to be done on the pipeline. We also appeal to all residents to utilise water sparingly at all times.
