Tshwane Increases Vaccination Sites
The City of Tshwane has now added two more COVID-19 vaccination sites to its current list. The latest addition brings the total number of vaccination sites from 41 to 43.
One of the two sites, the Zwartkops Raceway drive-through, will offer vaccination on weekdays and Saturdays from 09h00 to 15h00. On Fridays, the site will only operate from 14h00 until 16h00.
The Refilwe Community Hall vaccination site, which has only been operating on weekdays, will also offer weekend vaccination on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays.

Meanwhile, in 6 days (the period between 10 and 15 August 2021) 33, 996 people received their COVID-19 vaccinations. Of these, 17 963 have been fully vaccinated, either through the Johnson & Johnson single dose or two doses of Pfizer, bringing the total number of individuals who are fully vaccinated in Tshwane to 277 368.
As of Sunday, 15 August 2021, the number of vaccines administered in Tshwane stood at 588 335, which is 51 959 in a 6 day period. The 60 years old continues to be the most vaccinated with 167 814 individuals, with 76% (127 040) of them having been fully vaccinated.
They are followed by the 50 – 59 years age group with 106 891 with less than half (41 948) of them fully vaccinated.
The third highest age category is the 40 – 49 years with 103 280 individuals having received their COVID-19 vaccine jabs and 54 803 of them being fully vaccinated.
The 30 – 39 and the 20 – 29 age cohorts have the lowest number of vaccinated individuals sitting at 64 866 and 14 924 respectively. These figures are for those who form part of the Health Care workers, SAPS, Basic Education and Social Development employees’ category.
The vaccination for the 18 – 34 years group (general public) will begin from 1 September 2021. The City would like to once more implore all eligible age groups to register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) by using the following link: https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov/za/#/ and they can visit any of the City’s 43 vaccination sites enrolled by the Department of Health.
