The City of Tshwane resumes operations at licensing centres
02 June 2020
The City of Tshwane’s Roads and Transport Department is elated to inform residents that its licensing centres will be resuming operations with effect from Wednesday, 3 June 2020, after two months of closure due to the COVID-19 lockdown regulations imposed by the national government.
The licensing centres should have been opened on June 1 2020, as announced by Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula, however, the City couldn’t open for business due to logistical glitches.
Customers are urged to ensure that they only visit the licensing centres with a valid appointment to renew their driving license and are in possession of an Optometrist’s certificate.
This arrangement is meant to ensure that customers are catered for whilst we keep a proper following distance.
Services that will be rendered at the identified licensing centers are the following:
- Renewal of driving license cards;
- Application and testing for learners’ licenses;
- Registration and licensing of motor vehicles.
