Rand Water planned shutdown due to maintenance work

The water utility, Rand Water, has informed the City of Tshwane about a planned shutdown of water supply to Saulsville on 18 and 19 February 2020 due to a maintenance work on a newly constructed pipeline. During this period, the City’s plumbers will carry-out a tie-in connection at the Saulsville meter to the H28 pipeline and replace a broken by-pass valve on H22 pipeline. The interruption period will take 22 hours from 04h00 – 02h00 the next morning.
The following areas might experience low or no water during these days:
- Atteridgeville,
- Elandsfontein,
- Pretoria Town and Townlands,
- Saulsville
Meanwhile, maintenance work which entails cross connections on a newly constructed H42 pipeline are as follows:

3 until 4 March 2020 | 05:00 until 16:00 for 35 hours | Complete a tie-inn connection at Atteridgeville Prison between the H30 and the new H42 pipeline. With this shutdown all Tshwane meters have alternative supply from Rand Water pipeline there will also be a drop in pressures. |
10 until 11 March 2020 | 05:00 until 21:00 for 40 hours | Complete a tie-inn connection at Atteridgeville Prison between the H28 and the new H42 pipeline. With this shutdown all Tshwane meters have alternative supply from Rand Water pipeline there will also be a drop in pressures |
17 until 18 March 2020 | 04:00 until 04:00 for 24hours | Complete a tie-in connection at Andeon between the H18 and the new H42 pipeline. With this shutdown all Tshwane meters have alternative supply from Rand Water pipeline there will also be a drop in pressures |
Rand Water will continue to supply water during these days to all Tshwane reservoirs connected to this line with alternative pipelines. This scheduled work will thus not result in any water interruptions.
The City of Tshwane however sincerely apologises for any inconvenience that may be encountered because of the scheduled work.
